This year is marked by a tribute to Janine Bazin and the cinema she defended. A cinema that Entrevues still continues to defend, year after year.
The program of this 22nd edition gathered : a complete retrospective of João César Monteiro, the rebellious figure of the Portuguese cinema ; the first films of Pascal Thomas, stamped with insolence and loving feminism. Moreover, the transversal program as well as the "Cinema & history" encounters question the war, its principles and representations, through a double viewpoint both cinematographic and historical.
The Grand prix for the Best feature film reveals Tariq Taguia ans his first film Rome plutôt que vous. His actors, Samira Kaddour and Rachid Amrani, received the Janine Bazin award (which was at the time a Best Performance award). The Grand prix for the Best Documentary is given to Profit Motive and The Whispering Wind by John Gianvito (USA, 58 mn).
The international competition welcomes as well Brillante Mendoza (John John [Foster Child]), Alain Gomis (Andalucia, Audience Best Feature film award), Philippe Ramos (Capitaine Achab), Stéphane Mercurio (A Côté, Best French film award and Audience Best Documentary award), Emmanuelle Demoris (Mafrouza-Coeur) and also José Luis Guerin (Dans la ville de Sylvia [En la ciudad de Silvia]).
On the shorts side, Yann Gonzalez received the Grand Prix for the Best French short film for Entracte and João Pedro Rodrigues and João Rui Guerra da Mata, the Grand Prix for the Best Foreign short film for China, China.
Josh Safdie reveals two short films, The Back of her Head and I Think I’m Missing Parts, whereas Benoit Forgeard presents Belle île en mer, Patrick Chiha Où se trouve le chef de la prison?, Julien Samani Les Hommes de la forêt 21, Frank Beauvais Compilation 12 instants d'amour non partagé and Ben Russel Black and White Trypps Number Three, which received the Grand Prix for the Best Documentary short film.
2007 is also the year of the creation of the One+One Award which awards a film for its innovative musical spirit. Cap Nord, by Sandrine Rinaldi is the first laureate.
