The 29th edition welcomed Tony Gatlif and his collaborators in the context of La Fabbrica. Gatlif is a free and rebellious filmmaker, who observes society from the perspective of its margins. The Transversale session was dedicated to ‘Voyage dans le Temps’ (‘Time travel’), from Vincente Minnelli to Jean Cocteau, from Alain Resnais to Ken Russell, and from Hollis Frampton to Francis Ford Coppola...
The programme of Un Certain genre was focused on Japan and on the country’s Poltergeists. In this context, Entrevues presented the first Complete retrospective in France of the works of Satoshi Kon, the Japanese master of animation who disappeared prematurely. In addition, Kiyoshi Kurosawa was at the heart of the Double Feature programme, for which he associated all of his films presented at the festival to other films that had inspired them.
In 2014, the first edition of Entrevues Junior was also held – a branch of the festival conceived for children.
Anna Roussillon was awarded the Janine Bazin Grand Prize for her film I Am The People, which was also the laureate of the Audience Award for a feature film. A special mention by the Jury was also given to Lamine Ammar-Khodja for Bla Cinima.
The Ciné + Distribution support Award was granted to The Mend, by John Magary. A Tale, by Katrin Thomas, received the Grand Prize for a short film, while Hillbrow, by Nicolas Boone, was given three distinctions: the Eurocks One + One Award (sponsored by Lou Doillon), the Camira Award, and the Audience Award for a short film.
