To celebrate its 30th edition, the festival dedicates its program to the filmmakers that made the festival's history, with two special programs : "Exquisite corpse", and "30 years after".
30 filmmakers were invited to play the famous surrealist game "Exquisite corpse" by choosing a film from the last frame of another film. Serge Bozon, Jean-Paul Civeyrac, Clément Cogitore, Pedro Costa, Jean-Charles Fitoussi, Yann Gonzalez, José Luis Guerin, John Gianvito, Miguel Gomes, Alain Gomis, Yorgos Lanthimos, Arnaud et Jean-Marie Larrieu, Sébastien Lifshitz, Patricia Mazuy, Joao Nicolau, Jacques Nolot, Idrissa Ouedraogo, F.J. Ossang, Jafar Panahi, Joao Pedro Rodrigues, Alex Ross Perry, Thomas Salvador, Claire Simon and Abderrahmane Sissako accepted to play and came to the festival to present their choice.
With the program « 30 years later », the audience was invited to discover the new features of Claire Simon, José Luis Guerin, Corneliu Porumboiu and the Safdie Brothers.
The « Fabbrica » welcomed the famous Georgian filmmaker Otar Iosseliani, alongside his collaborators, to pay a tribute to his singular, poetic and independent work.
The section "A certain genre" focused on the young South Korean virtuoso Bong Joon-ho, and screened for the first time in France, all of his films, unreleased shorts included.
On the International Competition side, the Israeli filmmaker Efrat Corem who won the Grand Prix Janine Bazin for her film Ben Zaken. Antonio, lindo Antonio by Ana Maria Gomes received both the Grand Prix for the Short film and the Audience Best Short film. Two awards also for the Franssou Prenant's film Welcome to Madagascar: the distribution support award Ciné+ and the Eurocks One+One award. A special mention was attributed to Western by Bill and Turner Ross. Hassen Ferhani received as well two prices for Roundabout In My Head the Camira award and the Audience Best Feature film. The [Films en cours] award was given to The Alchimist Cookbook by Joel Potrykus, who came back to the festival for the 3rd time.
