The Nan Shui Bei Diao – South to North Water Transfer – is the world’s largest water transfer project, stretching between southern and northern China. Following the steps of this national project, the film maps the ever-changing state of a territory redesigned by engineers. While matter decomposes and individual concerns rise, an artificial, science fiction landscape begins to take over.
