Nadav Lapid

Israel's radical filmmaker and director of Policeman (2011), The Kindergarten Teacher (2014), Synonyms (2019 Berlinale Golden Bear Award) and Ahed’s Knee (last Cannes Film Festival Jury Prize), shatters all visual, narrative, and political norms upon tackling the physical impetus of rebellion.

 

A comprehensive retrospective of his work (short, mid-length and feature films) in the presence of the director, panel discussions with his artistic collaborators and the filmmaker’s carte blanche screening.

 

In partnership with the Forum des images who will also pay tribute to the director during the 12th edition of its festival “Un état du monde” (November 12-21th)

Indian cinema, the artist and the world

A programme that comprises 5 films by independent filmmakers, made far from the limelight of Bollywood, to reveal those artists’ struggle against the mainstream model: with Franz Osten’s Shiraz (1928) and Payal Kapadia’s A Night of Knowing Nothing (2021), winner of the 2021 Cannes Festival Œil d’Or award.

A program curated in collaboration with Amandine d'Azevedo and Eva Markovits.
