Luc Moullet
Eminent figure of the French New Wave, critic, alpinist, producer, cyclist, documentary filmmaker, comedian: Luc Moullet made almost 40 films in which he switched cheerfully from short to long form, from fiction to documentary, playing as much with stylistic conventions as with financial ones.
Following in the great tradition of burlesque filmmakers, he uses his own body as the driving force behind most of his films, and draws on his own life to write some of them. From Anatomie d'un rapport to Le Prestige de la Mort, his cinematic trajectory is as irresistible and rich as it is exceptionally coherent.
